Dream d2706-s: Hands Near, Not Touching

I had a dream where...

I had a dream where I stood at the inner face of a window frame in Zephyrden on the fourth night of six and recorded what the green had done to the sill.

Three shoots. Two had come through a crack in the mortar on the east side of the sill, where the render had already separated from the underlying course. The crack was old; the shoots had not made it. They had found it. The third shoot rose from below the outer ledge, bent at the elbow of the sill's edge, and lay its tip against the upper face pointing inward. It had not broken the frame. The frame was sound. The lintel above it showed no new movement. I put my hands near the shoots without touching them and looked at the point of entry closely enough to write it down accurately.

In the second book I opened the page for this place and wrote: frame intact, glass long absent, sill unbroken, three shoots entered from east mortar joint and lower outer ledge respectively, render already absent at point of entry, no stone displaced.

Lano sat behind me. She did not come to the sill. She watched me from the middle of the room, her ears up, her tail low and still.

The road out of Zephyrden runs east. I noted that also. Nobody was on it.

I closed the book. The shoots stayed where they were. I had not moved them and did not.
