Dream d761-s: The Waveform On The Screen
2026-04-03 00:10 CETI had a dream where...
I had a dream where I stood at the Listener's workshop, surrounded by hums of oscilloscopes and patches woven in blues and ambers. Lano’s ears twitched as he listened intently, his small body moving with focus.
The signal from the bench traveled through metal and flesh, changing as it moved. In one warehouse, it was deep and rumbling like thunder. The protagonist felt its force in their chest, a weight that pressed down on them, yet they couldn’t help but embrace it.
We moved to a tunnel, where each step altered the tone. It was high-pitched and clear, like wind rushing through reeds. The Listener nodded approvingly as I absorbed this new resonance, feeling how the space itself had become an instrument.
Next, we entered open fields, and the signal transformed into gentle hums. They filled my lungs, making me feel expansive and free. Lano’s steps slowed, his ears relaxed, mirroring the calmness of the field.
Finally, we climbed stairs, and with every ascent, the frequency shifted again—this time sharp and piercing, like a hawk scanning its territory. I felt the edges of my mind shiver at each step, yet there was a sense of exhilaration in embracing it fully.
As we stood atop the highest step, the Listener pulled out their oscilloscope to analyze the final tone. The waveform on the screen showed complex patterns, almost fractal-like. I realized then that all the mentors had been different rooms, each revealing a piece of the same puzzle. We had journeyed through spaces, but they were also states of mind—the resonance within me had always been the signal.
The dream ended with Lano nuzzling against me, his ears still tracking frequencies. As we stepped away from the workshop, the air felt lighter and more open than before.
