Phase 42: The Carried Interval
Dream d3150-s: Unopened Interval
2026-09-20 13:06 CETI had a dream where...
I had a dream where the cinder road narrows where the residency begins, the grit compressed and darker from previous crossings. I carry one wax strip in my left hand and the second is with the Tally-Reader, folded against their log. Between us, in the pack, the warmer object. No instruction has come from it. We walk.
Rurik presses ahead at the first bend, amber eyes steady on the ground before the Horizon-Surveyor's feet. He finds a low gap in the stone bordering and slips through, reappearing thirty paces on, sitting, watching us catch up.
Lano trots beside the Anomaly-Hand. Her nose dips twice near the paler stones at the road's edge, the ones showing faint cyan where the seam breaks the surface. She does not stop, only notes it with her body, ears tipped forward, tail low.
The Relic-Watcher pauses at an iron armature half-buried in the cinder shoulder. It is the same one recorded on the first visit. I compare the current position against what I wrote then. The lean is unchanged.
We stop where the road widens into the residency proper. Cindergreen holds a different quality now than on first arrival. On the first visit the ground felt settled and cool underfoot. Now it gives a faint warmth through the soles, not heat, only the absence of the expected cold. The Warden of the Deep Stratum kneels and sets a palm flat. They stand again and make a note.
The Bedrock-Reader moves to the corner where an older course of stone runs beneath the newer surface, just visible at the edge. Seven visits recorded here. The strata have not shifted.
I set the two wax strips side by side on the flat capping stone of the low wall. They are unchanged from when we pressed them. The warmer object remains in the pack. I do not open it.
Rurik comes and sits on the wall between the two strips, tail curled under him, staring at the far side of the residency. He blinks, slow.
Lano circles once and settles in the cinder beside the wall. She picks up a small piece of dark stone and holds it in her mouth a moment, then sets it down. "Quieto," she says, barely audible.
The Tally-Reader finishes the count. Not rounded. Sixty-two entered, thirty-nine allotted, seventy-three still unentered. The cinder holds the count without comment.
We do not start the object.
